Miso Sauce

  • 2 tbsp miso
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp rice vinegar

  • 1-2 tbsp vegan butter 
  • fresh chives, for garnish
  • sesame seeds, for garnish

Organic White Jasmine Rice Heat & Eat Pouch

    Prepare rice per directions on package then pour into a large bowl.

    Combine rice vinegar, sugar and salt in a small bowl and mix to dissolve the sugar. Add this vinegar mixture to the hot rice and stir gently until combined.

    In a small bowl, make the miso sauce by combining miso paste, maple syrup, sugar, and rice vinegar.

    Wet hands with water, then take 1 tbsp of rice, shape and squeeze it into a ball and flatten slightly. Place on a parchment paper lined plate to prevent sticking.

    Melt butter in a nonstick pan over medium heat. Pan-fry the rice balls on each side for about 1-2 mins, then brush the miso sauce on one side, flip and brush on the other side. Cook until both sides are crispy and golden (~1-2 mins).

    Garnish with chopped chives and sesame seeds.
