Organic Brown Udon Rice Noodles

  • 1

Cook minced shallot and vegetable oil in a Dutch oven or a skillet with a lid over medium low heat until it turns yellow (~5-7 mins). Stir occasionally.

  • 2

Add pork and stir fry for ~2 mins.

  • 3

Add rice cooking wine, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, white pepper and Chinese five-spice and cook for 30 seconds.

  • 4

Cover with lid and cook on low heat for 30 mins. Stir twice while cooking to make sure it doesn't burn. If it looks too dry (this usually happens if you use a skillet instead of Dutch oven), add some water.

  • 5

After it's done cooking, let it sit for 30 mins before opening the lid.

  • 6

Meanwhile, cook the udon rice noodles following the instructions on the package.

  • 7

To serve, pour minced pork sauce over the noodles, top with optional toppings of your choice and enjoy!
