Place rice in a strainer and rinse for 1-2 mins. Let drain for 5 mins.

Melt butter in a pot, then add onion and sauté for 2 mins. Add garlic and cook for another minute.

Stir in spices, then add rice and let toast and absorb the spices for 1-2 mins.

Add broth, bring everything to a boil, then lower heat to a simmer, cover and let cook for 20 mins, or until all liquid has been absorbed.

Remove from heat then let sit, covered, for 10 mins before fluffing with a fork.

Add all toppings and serve.
