We’re excited to share an important update to our Organic Jade Pearl Rice™ - one that helps us maintain exceptional quality and deepen our commitment to sustainable farming.
We’ve transitioned production from China to California, where this modern take on sushi-style rice is now proudly grown.
WHY THIS CHANGE MATTERS
This transition allows us to keep Organic Jade Pearl Rice™ both high-quality and accessible. By shifting production to California, we’re able to avoid rising import costs that would have significantly increased prices.
Just as importantly, it enables us to work more closely with U.S. organic rice farmers who share our values of soil health, biodiversity, and responsible agriculture.
FARMER-OWNED & CALIFORNIA GROWN
Our Organic Jade Pearl Rice™ is grown and processed in partnership with Next Generation Foods, a farmer-owned company founded in 2006 by fifth-generation Northern California farmer Michael Bosworth.
Much of the rice is cultivated on family farmland where agriculture has been a way of life since 1946. With more than 75 years of heritage, the ranch combines precision farming technology with environmentally responsible practices.
Farming organically since 1997, our partners are guided by a simple belief: healthy soil produces the highest quality rice. The result is full traceability and close oversight - from field to finished grain.
WHAT YOU MIGHT NOTICE
- A new short-grain sushi-style rice
- Slightly firmer texture (best with a bit more water and cooking time)
- Natural jade-green color
- Light, earthy aroma with a subtle sweetness
New Cook Instructions
Do not rinse - this removes the bamboo extract.
- Combine 1 cup rice, 1½ cups water, and a pinch of salt.
- Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Cover, reduce heat, and simmer:
- 10 minutes for firmer texture
- 15 minutes for softer texture
- Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for a few minutes.
- Fluff and serve.
