Lotus Foods Arare and Organic Red Rice Are NEXTY Finalists


[Richmond, CA] – We are thrilled to announce that two new Lotus Foods products have been selected as finalists for a New Hope NEXTY award. Our Sriracha Arare Rice Cracker is a finalist in the Best New Snack category and our Organic Red Rice is a finalist in the Best New Organic Food category. There are only three finalists in each of 21 categories. Winners will be chosen and announced on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Natural Products Expo East in Baltimore.

Finalist for Best New Snack: Arare Rice Cracker / Sriracha

Organic brown and heirloom black rice replace commercial grade glutinous white rice, and there are no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Finalist for Best New Organic Food: Organic Red Rice

Rice is the staple food of the island but has contributed to serious forest loss.  Lotus Foods Organic Red Rice is grown by innovative farmers using System of Rice Intensification practices or what we call More Crop Per Drop™, which enables them to double and triple their yields using up to 50% less water, 80-90% less seed and no agrochemicals.  Higher yields from MCPD and Lotus Foods’ organic premiums can increase incomes and relieve pressure on what is left of Madagascar’s bio-rich rainforest. Organic Red Rice is whole grain, high in micronutrients, low in arsenic and cooks in 30 minutes. It has a slightly nutty flavor, beautiful russet color, and is great in any dish from pilafs to puddings.
