Recipes for Vegans

We partnered with Christine Waltermyer, Founder and Director of the Natural Kitchen Cooking School (www.naturalkitchenschool.com) who created the recipes that you are about to enjoy. Christine offers chef training programs and online cooking classes and is the author of Natural Vegan Kitchen.

Rice is Life; Rice is Vegan. The rice in these recipes combines multiple forces for good: Veganism, Biodiversity, Fair Trade, Food Security, Poverty Alleviation and Sustainability, to name a few.

More Crop Per Drop™, which is how we refer to the SRI (System of Rice Intensification) methods practiced by our family producers, saves water, seed and land without any additional carbon inputs, AND increases yields. All Lotus Foods rices are grown on small family farms and prized for their delicious taste, texture, color, cooking quality and nutritional value. LF has organized this network of thousands of family farmers in countries around the world to ensure that heirloom varieties of rice will remain available and commercially viable.

Cooking with Lotus Foods rice is a tangible way to support compassionate and sustainable innovation, and put something vegan back into the world from which your sustenance springs. By using less land to grow rice farmers have the opportunity to grow more vegetables and fruit that will give them a better and more varied diet, as well as a premium price in the local market. A win win for all!

The rices themselves are each a journey with a story. Pink, black, red, brown, jade, and white. We hope you will enjoy them and provide your feedback as well. If you like, you can even share your favorite vegan rice recipe as well. Wishing you good eating and good health.
